Museum of a Liptov village has been open for public since 1991. It is situated in Pribylina village. It was built together with a water reservoir Liptovská Mara, in order to protect the most precious movable and immovable cultural monuments.
Except of pure wooden architecture (houses of farmers and craftsmen, a village school, a smithy, a fire station, a belfry and other buildings), copies of two most precious monuments situated in the flooded area were made. An Early Gothic church of St. Mary (from Liptovská Mara) and a Gothic-Renaissance manor-house (from Parížovce).
The museum has its own zoo-exposition. It is concerned on domestic animals and poultry. A local speciality is keeping Huncul horses with a chance for visitors to buy a ride.
